Northwest Glendale came out in force at tonight’s city council meeting. On the agenda, the proposed T-Mobile cell tower in front of the home at 509 Cumberland Rd.
GOACT really mobilized the neighborhood. The city council chambers at the meeting tonight was full to overflowing. In fact, a bunch of us were in the lobby having a grand ‘ole time while waiting for our issue to come up and the city put out a couple of dozen chairs and turned on the big screen monitor for us. Most were wearing the special t-shirts.

Mayor Drayman made it very clear that tonight was not about stopping the tower from being built. The council was merely voting on whether or not to put a moratorium in place to delay the tower construction. This is to allow for further study and, ultimately, to see if the city can broker a compromise that is both legal and palatable to residents and cell companies.
A 45 day moratorium was passed.
