Do Glendale Homes Sell in the Holidays?

by Kendyl on November 6, 2008

Today’s Real Estate Answer:  Yes.

Every year I get home owners wondering if they should bother having their home for sale during the holidays.  They wonder if spring might be a better time to sell.

Now, here is a truth you won’t hear anywhere else – spring is a better time to sell.  (I’m talking about Glendale spring which starts in March, not May)

If that’s true, why does anyone list their home for sale in November?

  • There are buyers who need to buy NOW.
    • Marriage, jobs, taxes, births LIFE continues to happen regardless of season or economic conditions.  These people need to buy right now and they might buy your home, if it is available!
  • There are less homes on the market
  • The buyers looking right now are motivated
  • Your home looks awesome, decorated in it’s holiday finery
  • We know what the market is like now.
    • By spring, a jillion things could change.  Interest rates, home values, buyer confidence, economics and world events can drastically change and effect your home’s value. Do you want to gamble that these changes will be in your favor?
