Now, free music concerts are a staple of every summertime municipal program. These concerts foster a sense of connection to your fellow citizen, pride in your city for it’s fine facilities and community service and, basically, a reason to get out of the house and breath some fresh air, for goodness sake.
The Verdugo Swing Concerts are no exception. We, here in Glendale, love to celebrate our Americana roots. We have tremendous nostalgia for a time when Jimmy Dean was not a sausage but an American icon, Happy Days were something you lived, not a show on TV, and a time when “all the women were strong, the men good looking and the children were all above average”.
Bring a blanket, a chair and a picnic dinner. The kids can run free at the play structure nearby and the adults can dance on the huge dance floor. Tonight features a 17 piece community member Big Band and vocalists Holly Bender and Paul Rickey are featured.
