The good people at the Stepping Stone players sent me their press release for their upcoming production, Once Upon a Mattress, but I can’t use it. It is far too modest!!! Seriously! These guys are full of talent, passion and heart and it shows in every production I have attended.
Here are the very proper and dry facts:
The Stepping Stone Players, Glendale’s own resident community theater company, is currently in rehearsal for its ninth musical theater production of Once Upon a Mattress. The Stepping Stone Players is a non-profit theater group founded in 2000 whose vision is to build a sense of community through theater by encouraging the participation of people of all ages and backgrounds. The troupe has formed a successful partnership with Hoover High School to provide mentoring for students in a “living classroom”, so that kids learn about all aspects of theater while working in a hands-on production environment.
The show opens Friday, September 5th and runs through September 21st with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. Matinees on Sunday September 14th and 21st will offer American Sign Language interpreters. Hoover High Theater is located at 651 Glenwood Road in Glendale. Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for children, students and seniors. Group rates for 15 or more are available at $8.00 by calling (818) 243-1637. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at www.steppingstoneplayers.com.
Here is what I want to tell you.
Go. See The. Show.
Seriously! It is one heck of a good time and you might help the next Kristen Chenoweth or Michael Crawford launch their career. This is LA. It could happen.
