The Broker’s caravans were very light this week. I guess everyone is still in “vacay” mode.

I think the deal of the week is this 2 bedroom Spanish Style in the Rossmoyne for only $549,000. It has a supurb Batchelder picture tile fireplace a veritable orchard in the large backyard. It is also next door to one of the finest Craftsman homes in the area.

The winner of “prettiest home” is, hands down, this La Canada post and beam style home in the Flintridge Hills. Renovated by the noted local builder/designer, Jay Johnson, this is a masterful study in light and tranquility. Here is a tiny video of the great room area

The Tiki Gods Live at 1811 Niodrara

Do you remember when the Brady Bunch went to Hawaii? Remember the Curse of the Tiki God? When the Brady Bunch came home they missed Encino and came over to 1811 Niodrara in the Verdugo Woodlands here in Glendale.

This mid-century lovely is set amongst the oaks on one of the loveliest streets in town. On a recent Facebook conversation, Niodrara was mention numerous times as people’s most favorite street. Airy rooms feature walls of glass and natural materials echo the beauty of nature outside. Every room flows effortlessly to the next.

But enough about the house. You want to know about the Tiki Gods. Ok, first off, here is a 15 second video about the Tiki Bar in the Family Room. Ok, now here is an equally short bit about the Tiki God at the entrance. Isn’t that fun?

Mid Century Houses Like This Are Rare

Mid Century Houses like the one I saw today, in Whiting Woods, are rare. The ever gracious and professional Craig Faresveit listed this remodeled and uber cool home at the end of Mesa Lila Road in the magical neighborhood of Whiting Woods. This neighborhood is incredibly connected to nature and is filled with quite a few significant Mid Century homes with pedigree. This particular home is remodeled, landscaped and features a very nice pool. I think it is really well priced and should sell fast.

By the way, if you ever want to see how a home should look when it is on the market, I recommend that you visit one of Craig’s open homes. His sellers always do a fabulous job of executing Craig’s advice and the homes generally sell for top dollar.

We are blessed, this week, with some of the coolest Mid Century homes to hit the Glendale Home market in years. I am positively giddy to tell you all about them- they are that cool. First up, naturally, is my own listing at 1717 W. Mountain.
